Permanent - 37 hours per week. 

Dacorum Borough Council, has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to work as part of our dynamic Environmental Services Team, based at Cupid Green Depot in Hemel Hempstead.

You will support the Environmental Projects Lead Officer in developing and delivering service-specific information to residents, to help us provide a good service and reach a 60% recycling rate. Whilst working under the remit of Dacorum Borough Council and the Hertfordshire WasteAware Partnership, you will work on a range of environmental projects, campaigns and events to promote the services offered, help tackle environmental issues, drive behavioural change and maintain civic pride in the community.

You will be responsible for; liasing with residents to answer service-specific queries; producing newsletters, presentations and social media content including images and videos; delivering educational sessions on the waste hierarchy and litter awareness to local community groups and schools, and; using IT and web systems to produce analysis reports in order to monitor our waste service and ensure that our communications are effective.

You will have the ability to plan, prioritise and manage your workload efficiently, possess good organisational, analytical and research skills, be an effective communicator, have a good understanding of environmental issues and the waste sector, be highly motivated and expected to deliver against a challenging work plan.

You will need your own vehicle. There may be the requirement for occasional evening and weekend work.

A check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
