Bath and North East Somerset’s award winning Parks’ team are seeking to recruit an experienced projects manager to deliver capital projects in the district’s parks. Funded from developer’s contributions the projects will help deliver B&NES Parks and Bereavement Services commitment to improve the infrastructure in existing parks and develop new uses for green spaces (such as building new allotments).

The work will largely involve working with local stakeholders and colleagues to research and understand public use of parks within the target areas and then developing strategic plans for their improvement - building on the work of the Council’s Green Spaces Strategy. Whilst not prescriptive, the typical project is likely to involve research and consultation to identify requirements for new infrastructure and landscape improvements and then engaging contractors to design and deliver the work.

The successful applicant will be an experienced project manager with a proven track record of delivering capital programmes in heritage or public park landscapes. They will have experience managing large project (c. £250k) budgets and leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet agreed deadlines; and will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and significant experience of public consultation and engagement.

The successful candidate will work within the Parks and Bereavement Services team and be based in Royal Victoria Park, Bath with frequent travel to parks and council offices across the district.

This is a fixed term position to 1st June 2020.
