Can you help shape a global plan to save nature? The RSPB is looking for a senior advocate with a campaigning mindset to make the case for ambitious international agreements to help drive the recovery of the natural world. Working with a passionate team at the RSPB and Birdlife, you will help secure outcomes in the Convention on Biological Diversity and its sister conventions that can reverse the catastrophic losses of wildlife happening across our planet. You will need a clear-sighted view of how international agreements achieve change in the real world. You will have experience of working with partners in the international community to advocate solutions that protect nature and improve the livelihoods of people. You will understand the importance of grounding policy in the best and most up to date science, whilst believing in the need for public engagement and political momentum to drive meaningful change. You will be a fluent communicator, a diplomat, and will love working with broad-based and diverse coalitions to achieve a shared goal. This is an exciting role at a critical time - countries will meet at a global summit in 2020 in Beijing to decide what can be done to stop the extinction crisis. If you think you help make that moment a big step forward in the battle to save nature, we would love to hear from you.
