£30,750 per annum

37.5 hours per week - based in Bristol

Sustrans Research & Monitoring Unit provides evidence on walking and cycling that is transparent and authoritative, and which influences and shapes policy, practice and behaviour and we are now seeking a creative, passionate and experienced individual to join our team of forty analysts, researchers, GIS and evaluation specialists as a senior manager.

This brand new role provides an exciting opportunity to lead Sustrans’ GIS service within the management team of the Unit. You’ll manage two GIS Officers and support them in delivering a wide range of projects, from support of our land managers to spatial analysis in support of our research work. The time is perfect to shape our ongoing approach to the use of GIS and help embed the effective use of GIS data and tools within the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and working knowledge of GIS software and the technical expertise to implement new approaches to GIS data management and processing. You will have experience of managing a team and developing the skills of others in the use of GIS. Strong project management experience and a track record of delivering projects to budget and a high quality are essential. You will also be committed to the promotion of walking and cycling.
