We are recruiting for a talented manager to lead our programme of science and monitoring. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of the award-winning Moors for the Future Partnership.

You will develop new opportunities and innovative ways of providing the vital evidence for the effectiveness of all strands of our work and will lead the team which collects it.

Our ideal candidate will be educated essentially to MSc level, preferably with a PhD, with expertise in the science of upland ecosystems with a focus on peatland. You must be an excellent team player and be able to work as part of the management team who deliver an integrated programme on behalf of the Partnership.

A large part of your role will be to develop new business, from small grants to major funding applications. Experience of fund raising and grant application, working in collaboration with others, is a must.

To make your mark, you must be a skilled programme manager, with strong leadership skills and be able to ‘hit the ground running’. Our ideal candidate will have excellent people skills and a proactive positive attitude.

In return, we can offer you the opportunity of making a real difference to the South Pennine uplands - and beyond. Our core working area is the South Pennine SAC, but we have a global reach as far as Tibet and the Falkland Islands.

You will be based at the Moorland Centre, within the beautiful village of Edale, minutes from the Pennine Way. Employee benefits include flexible working arrangements, childcare vouchers and Local Government Pension Scheme.

Interviews are likely to be held week commencing 14 May.
