Purpose

Our busy Bristol office needs an organised and enthusiastic Operations and Projects Assistant to provide support for the operations and multiple consultancy projects.

Nature and scope

You will be assisting the company in the planning, set-up and delivery of its Evidence workstream programme and in field-based data collection projects.

This role provides a good opportunity for someone who has excellent administrative and people skills, but is also practical, and enjoys working in a busy office environment in the resource efficiency consultancy sector.

Please note this role requires being available out of office hours (normally on Sunday afternoons, with regular Sunday working at busy times).

Responsibilities

Data gathering field work set up and resource planning

  • Recruitment and administration of casual employees
  • Arranging delivery, collection, parking and storage of appropriate vehicles as required
  • Occasionally undertaking site/remote work as appropriate (includes working on data collection projects and waste analysis)
  • Driving 3.5 tonne long-wheeled base transit vans as required

Project delivery

  • Assisting Project Managers with sample selection and preparation for data collection

project

  • Liaison with clients to ensure necessary operational set-up information is secured
  • Providing support with desk-based research, preparation of tender documents and reports

Company resources

  • Ensuring that hire vehicle records are compliant with National Motor Insurance Database requirements
  • Management of the company’s 3.5 tonne long-wheeled base transit van
  • Managing stocks of equipment and consumables including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained and maintenance certificates updated
  • Ensuring the storage unit containing all field work equipment is maintained and kept in good order

This role requires a diverse variety of administrative tasks.
