Cycling UK are looking for some fantastic people to join the Cycling UK team in Scotland, with a number of different vacancies across the country. The posts are all funded by Transport Scotland and you’ll be part of a growing team that engages thousands of people across Scotland.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual with a passion for supporting people to try cycling for everyday journeys.

The Bothy – Inverclyde 

The Bothy will utilise Smarter Choices Smarter Places grant funding in Inverclyde to amalgamate numerous community groups encouraging smarter travel to create a healthier, happier and cleaner Inverclyde and a place people want to spend time. The Bothy will be a localised, place based partnership project run within Inverclyde and will create positive change to the way people travel, perceive and utilise the place they live and visit. With a place based focus on cycling and walking, By raising awareness of cycling and walking routes, increasing confidence of people’s travel journeys and local knowledge and offering a space for community to share feedback and suggestions on the place around them, The Bothy project will certainly strive to achieve this. Utilising a ‘high footfall‘ premises, The Bothy will be attractive and welcoming to those who are not engaged in social activities and will offer them information and support to get involved and volunteer in any community project run at or supported by The Bothy.

Purpose of Role 

To coordinate partners to support engagement with walking and cycling activities within Inverclyde. Promoting activities on social media and promotion by other methods will be a key role. Managing and coordinating individual volunteers and ensuring procedures are followed prior to activities will be an important aspect of this role. Manning The Bothy and ensuring there is good quality information on offer for the public via maps, access to apps and knowledge of partner organisations will be an ongoing role of The Bothy Project Coordinator.
