As our Marketing & Communications Officer, you will be responsible for marketing these special places imaginatively and effectively.

Please be advised that you'll be required to work some evenings and weekends in this role - more details regarding the hours will be discussed at interview.

What it's like to work here

The wild and dramatic landscape of Wicken Fen is truly awe-inspiring. The fen is one of Europe’s most important wetlands and home to more than 8,500 species, including plants, birds and dragonflies. The close-knit team members are devoted to the conservation of this rich habitat and are looking for dedicated people to help with this important task. A high level of visitor engagement makes Wicken Fen a very rewarding place to work.

What you'll be doing

The Wicken Fen Vision is the National Trust's 100 year plan to create a landscape for people and wildlife to enjoy between Wicken and Cambridge, an area covering 53 square kilometres. As our Marketing & Communications Officer, you'll engage and involve the local community in this vision through inspiring communication activities and digital content. You'll work as part of the team to make sure that we're sharing the best stories we can. Spreading the word about Wicken Fen, and raising awareness of our conservation work.

Day to day, you’ll manage and help develop our annual marketing and communications plan to help achieve our ambitious targets, helping us to reach out to new audiences and engage the local community. This will include defining communication activities and creating promotional materials and updates (across all media platforms, including social media), writing and distributing press releases and newsletters, and representing us on broadcast media when you need to.
