Senior Ecologist
From £25,951 to £30,153 per annum (2017/2018 rates)
Fixed term – Two year, full time with the expectation of continuation with successful income generation.

Do you want to be involved in conserving one of the most important populations of Greater Horseshoe Bats in Europe? Are you interested in working on a range of housing and infrastructure schemes in Devon, including Sherford new town, quarries and new road schemes? Are you keen to help develop and implement new guidance relating to European Sites, EPS, priority species and habitats to achieve net gain?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated ecologist to work with Local Authorities, Natural England and other partners on a range of infrastructure projects across Devon, with a focus on the South Hams Special Area of Conservation and implementation of the new SPD (out for consultation this spring).

The Senior Ecologist will join a small ecology team within DCC’s multi-disciplinary Environment Group (covering landscape, flood management, historic environment, coast, energy and protected landscapes) and will also provide specialist support to Teignbridge District Council as well as other Local Planning Authorities as required.

This is a new full-time position which is initially for two years. However, the expectation is that, with successful income generation, the position will continue.
