Do you have knowledge of planning policy and a good understanding of ecology and wildlife conservation? Are you as committed as we are to creating a Yorkshire rich in wildlife for everyone? We are one of the UK’s fastest growing environmental organisations and seek to appoint a Conservation Officer in our proactive and committed planning team.

As the post holder you will ensure that the Wildlife Trust’s role in giving planning advice on nature conservation is widely recognised and respected and that those making strategic planning decisions are fully informed on conservation issues and sustainable development particularly in the South, West and Eastern areas of our county with some input into regional and national responses where required.

As well as being passionate and enthusiastic about our mission to secure Living Landscapes and Living Seas, you will be able to use your powers of persuasion through verbal and written communication to raise awareness of planning issues with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. In addition you will have a keen team working approach and the ability to work under your own initiative as appropriate, whilst your strong personality will enable you to deal with people and organisations that fundamentally disagree with the Trust’s viewpoint.
