Forester / Woodland Officer
Full time, Permanent
c£28,000 pa

Surrey is the most wooded county in England and the Trust manages 1,500 hectares of woodland for conservation, biodiversity and timber production.

We have a dedicated woodland strategy and individual site management plans in place and need an experienced forester to deliver our objectives.

Educated to degree level (relevant qualification), with a passion for woodland and wildlife conservation, you will need to be enthusiastic, well organised with excellent communication skills. Extensive woodland management experience, including the management of forestry contractors, knowledge of current woodland management grants, regulatory compliance and surveying are essential. A good working knowledge of GIS, mapping and data analysis will be helpful. Regular liaison with local stakeholders, neighbours and interested parties will be involved so the ability to explain and enthuse others about our plans will be a vital skill.

This role involves travel across Surrey, with an office base in either SWT HQ in Pirbright or with our Estate Team on Wisley Common. A full UK driving licence is necessary. For an Application Form and full job profile, please see our website at If you have any questions, please contact Andrew Jamieson 01483 795440.

The deadline for applications is midday Friday 27th April 2018, with interviews likely to be held during week beginning 8th May 2018.
