Ecologist – all levels

Are you looking for a new challenge in a young, vibrant but highly experienced and motived team?

Are you an experienced ecologist but find you are in the office too much and looking for more responsibility but still want to do field work?

Have you successfully achieved development licence applications for bats, badgers and/or newts?

Or are looking to progress your career from consultant or senior level?

If your answer is yes to any of the above then get in touch with BMD – we are recruiting at levels from high end consultant through to principal to work on a number of projects ranging from small sites to those of several 100 hectares.

Essential qualities:

  • Experience in UK ecological consultancy
  • Willingness to work anti-social hours
  • Able to respond/attend site at short-notice
  • Able to demonstrate identification / field skills in UK flora and fauna
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight (may be periods up to 1 week)
  • Good, demonstrable, report writing skills
  • Able to work within a close-knit team and on your own
  • Able to manage your time
  • Good, demonstrable, communications skills: written, verbal, email
  • Demonstrable commitment of interest to the natural environment as well as other interests.

Desirable qualities:

  • CIEEM membership
  • Successful delivery of development licences
  • GCN licence
  • Bat licence
