Information and Communications Officer

Thrive is a national charity using Social &Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) to make a positive impact in people’s lives. We have offices in London, Reading and Birmingham.

We are looking to recruit a confident, front-line, customer service focussed individual who can bring energy and resourcefulness to help us develop and grow our Information Service.

You will need to have a 'can-do’ attitude with exceptional interpersonal skills, and above all, a passion for gardening and its application and benefits to health and wellbeing. This role requires organisation, flexibility and understanding of the issues affecting people with disabilities, ill-health and long-term conditions.

Key areas of work will include:

  • responsibility for delivering a proactive information service, producing high-quality and topical information for our audiences on using gardening and the outdoors for health and wellbeing, including new and revised resources, in print, online, and in other appropriate formats
  • providing timely and personalised responses to enquiries for information, publications and advice on gardening for people with disabilities or ill health
  • providing support to the Communications & PR Manager in the production of newsletters, Growth Point, website information, social media and other communications

Reporting to the Communications and PR Manager, the Information & Communications Officer will work with both the Business Development and Training, Education & Consultancy Teams to add support in developing and implementing their work streams.
