Site Supervisor - Bristol

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced site supervisor, who is an outstanding team player and who has a positive and professional attitude to join our Bristol-based team. You will be experienced in supervising and managing teams on-site, and will have demonstrable experience in maintaining site health, safety, environmental and wellbeing standards. This is a working supervisor position, and candidates must be prepared to undertake practical hands on work.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working within one or more of the following industries: ecological contracting, landscaping, agricultural, countryside management or vegetation clearance industries. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of demonstrable experience as a site supervisor and will ideally have at least 2 years practical experience of working on the tools.

We are looking for a real go-getter and someone who will help the business to grow and improve. There is a real opportunity for progression within this role, with a clearly defined career pathway and opportunities for external training available.

Successful candidates will:

  • Lead teams in the delivery and undertaking of ecological contracting work packages on site, ensuring that works are delivered on programme, on budget and with zero defects.
  • Lead and motivate site teams.
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic working environment.
  • Effectively manage site safety, environmental and wellbeing requirements.
  • Keep accurate daily diaries for all site-based works.
  • Monitor and track daily plant, labour, equipment and material allocations.
  • Undertake daily compliance checks of equipment, plant and machinery.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in ensuring that plant, machinery and equipment is maintained in accordance with the PUWER and LOLER regulations.
  • Be highly organized and able to adapt to quick changes in a dynamic working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with site teams, suppliers, clients and office based staff.
  • Lead by example, maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Person specification

  • CSCS (ideally Black/Gold card)
  • CPCS/NPORS (ideally 360 excavator and/or Tractor)
  • FAAW qualification
  • PA1/PA6W herbicide spraying
  • CS30 & 31. Other chainsaw qualifications will be looked on favourably
  • LANTRA Woodchipper
  • LANTRA Brushcutter
  • Experienced in operating a wide variety of plant
  • Full driving licence, ideally with Trailer Licence (B+E).

Salary and benefits:

  • £24,000 to £30,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Overtime and weekend supplement.
