Changeworks is looking for an experienced Energy Consultant committed to realising improved energy efficiency and the adoption of renewables and other low carbon technologies in the built environment. This is an exciting time for Changeworks, with the imminent launch of its ambitious three-year Strategic Plan, and the sector in Scotland with Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Plan (SEEP) and Energy Strategy going live in 2018. The role is critical to maintain, develop and diversify our current portfolio of work, and develop innovative research projects or pilots in pursuit of our strategic goals. Our current work includes advising social landlords and local authorities to achieve their energy efficiency, carbon and fuel poverty reduction targets

You will be an experienced and professionally qualified individual with a demonstrable understanding of building energy use. You will understand building energy assessment methods but more importantly have an in depth and strategic understanding of opportunities in the energy efficiency retrofit, low carbon heating and/or renewables sector. This will allow you to develop new consultancy opportunities as well as projects and pilots that will see Changeworks develop insight and take a lead in the effective implementation of SEEP. In addition, your experience will allow you to effectively manage the work of both our energy assessor and data analyst.

The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of delivering complex projects for a range of clients. Strong at communicating and building partnerships you will be highly organised and have excellent attention to detail to meet the challenge of a demanding schedule. You will also bring a creative and enquiring mind to this role, combined with a commitment and passion for the field and supporting clients in a dynamic and value driven environmental charity.

We offer an attractive staff benefits package, excellent pension and employee benefits which include 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.
