The Peak District National Park are looking to recruit a Conservation Volunteers Assistant to help deliver practical conservation volunteering projects through its Peak Park Conservation Volunteers (PPCV) programme. The post will help run practical conservation volunteering projects for a wide variety of volunteers both community groups and individuals. PPCV provide around 3000 volunteer days per year on over 220 project days. PPCV is committed to encouraging volunteering from all sectors of our community and this post will help the volunteers to have a fuller understanding of the Peak District National Park and its special qualities through their volunteering experience.

Candidates should have a level 3 qualification in countryside management or significant related experience including supervision of conservation groups. Experience of leading volunteer groups in the outdoors and using a variety of hand tools, as well as certificates to operate power tools including a chainsaw, are essential.

The post includes regular weekend working.

Conditions of employment include enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme.
