Epping Forest Countrycare is a small but highly motivated, busy team of conservationists who are looking to recruit a temporary Countryside Assistant.

The Assistant will contribute to the implementation of practical conservation work to conserve and enhance the biodiversity and landscape of the District and to promote public access, education and enjoyment of the countryside.

Ideally you will be educated to diploma level (or equivalent) in a nature conservation related subject with recent experience of practical countryside management. Knowledge of habitat management techniques, an awareness of the importance of biodiversity and wildlife and an understanding of countryside furniture construction techniques is also required.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, willing to learn new skills and apply them in the field. You will be a team player who is able to motivate others but also able to work independently. You should be able to communicate effectively and confidently in person and in writing with customers. An awareness of outdoor health and safety and the safe use of tools is essential. A basic level of computer literacy will also be required.
