We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative individual to lead the Trust’s community programmes.

Head of Community Programmes
Salary: circa £33,000
Full Time, 35 hours per week
Location: Gloucester

The aim is to provide opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to experience and connect with nature. This will include high-quality activities and projects that inspire people to visit natural green spaces, raise awareness of the benefits of conserving wildlife, enhance people’s wellbeing and quality of life and increase their commitment to taking action to support wildlife conservation.

You will oversee the development, management, promotion and delivery of a range of innovative, inspirational and accessible community programmes covering community development, community out-reach and engagement, health and wellbeing, informal and formal educational activities, festivals and celebrations, programmes to engage active community participation (like wildlife gardening, species ‘watches') and the expansion of our programme of training courses. You will also work closely with our Communications and Business support teams to develop and deliver campaigns and visitor experiences that further our engagement objectives.

The postholder will work at a senior strategic level within the Trust in close liaison with the Chief Executive to plan and deliver the community programmes of the Trust, fully integrated with its land management, conservation programmes and support services (finance, fundraising, membership, marketing and communications).

We are looking for a proactive partnership builder who can extend and develop the scale of our work by working closely with others. The postholder will be expected to develop and support all staff who are responsible for delivering community programmes, as well as managing related budgets and raising resources to support the work of the team.
