The Estates & Facilities department of Birmingham City University seeks to recruit a suitably experienced and qualified person to undertake the role of Environmental Officer. The person appointed will support the development and delivery of Birmingham City University’s (BCU’s) environmental targets and objectives, fulfilling the University’s Environmental Policy commitments and driving continuous improvement in environmental performance. This includes maintaining BCU’s ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System, delivering initiatives to reduce the University’s environmental impacts, and delivering training and engagement programmes to students and staff.

The post involves regular contact with members of staff, students, consultants, Local Authority, Environmental Government Agencies, energy and water suppliers, and contractors. The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject with suitable experience in all aspects of environmental management and possess excellent communication, IT skills and with, or working towards, membership of a relevant professional body.
