Closing date: Tuesday, 13th March 2018

The post holder will deliver energy advice across a range of our home energy projects. There will also be some in-depth casework.

We are looking for an understanding and patient person to give advice to people suffering from fuel poverty. You’ll need to be confident speaking on the phone and in talking to people from all walks of life. Ideally, you’ll have experience of giving advice before, but it is not essential for you to have an in-depth knowledge of energy as we will provide training.

Your day to day tasks will involve:

  • Working on an advice line where you will pick up calls from people struggling with energy issues
  • Recording client details and understanding what sort of help they need
  • Referring clients onto other support organisations in the area
  • Delivering outreach events or giving advice to people in their homes
  • Supporting clients over a period of time with a number of different issues

We want you to be able to keep an eye on important details whilst maintaining a helpful and friendly attitude at all times. You will need to be good at communicating complicated issues in a simple and easy-to-understand way – both in person, on the phone and in writing.
