John Muir Award England Education Manager

The John Muir Award, the main engagement initiative of the John Muir Trust, is a leading environmental award scheme focused on wild places. With funding support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we are recruiting an England Education Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

Manage and increase education-related John Muir Award activity, primarily through schools but also informal education and youth work sectors. Position the Award to contribute, reflect and be relevant to the English education and learning sector and to support our partnership with the Peak District National Park Authority.

At least 2 years professional experience of the formal education sector is essential. Applicants must demonstrate understanding of the role the John Muir Award can play in formal and informal education systems in England.

A flexible approach, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, self-motivation and an ability to work without supervision are essential.

Initial contract until 31 December 2018, with contract continuation until 31 December 2019 subject to funding confirmation.
