Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is organising two Rural Apprenticeships in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.

The apprenticeships will start between April and July 2018, last for 18 months and be based at the YDNPA Ranger base in Stainforth, Ribblesdale. They will provide work-based training and trainees will study for a Work Based Diploma in Environmental Conservation. Apprentices will also gain a range of certificated skills which are vital in land-based industries and will be assisted with the costs of transport to training.

The apprenticeships are part of YDMT’s Stories in Stone scheme, a programme of community and heritage conservation projects focused on the Ingleborough area and developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership, which is led by YDMT and supported by Heritage Lottery Fund.

The scheme does not have an age restriction, but applicants must not already have a qualification in a similar field.

Apprentices will be paid £4.20 per hour for the first year and the National Minimum Wage for their age in the second year. Hours will be 37 hours per week. The cost of transport to training can be claimed from YDMT and there will be some allowance towards personal protective equipment.

The deadline for receiving applications is 4pm on Wednesday 28th February 2018 at the offices of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 8th March at the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust offices in Clapham, North Yorkshire.
