Project Co-ordinator, Community Street Design (ref: SUS2318)

£21,965- £24,586 pro rata per annum (dependent on relevant skills and experience)

22.5 hours per week – Contract to 31 March 2019 - based in Southampton

This exciting opportunity is to co-design, trial and deliver improvements to create child friendly streets in a neighbourhood in Southampton, working closely with a local school and surrounding communities, delivering a series of engaging community events, street trials and permanent small scale street improvements.

Educated to degree level or equivalent and committed to active travel and the ideals of Sustrans, you will have excellent communication, interpersonal, networking and presentation skills, experience of delivering practical projects which included community engagement or participatory design, be very enthusiastic about the role and have the ability to enthuse and motivate others. Experience of organising events or workshops is also required as is IT literacy and an understanding of local travel, urban design and regeneration issues. You will also be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.
