Project Officer, Schools (ref: SUS2321)

£21,965 - £24,586 pro rata per annum (dependent on relevant skills and experience)

18.75 hours per week – maternity cover – based in Reigate/Banstead

The exciting challenges of this role include the delivery of educational and promotional schemes to support Reigate & Banstead Borough Council in achieving increased modal shift to sustainable modes of travel to and from schools, promoting walking and cycling to 9 – 13 year olds in selected primary and secondary schools, encouraging a culture of sustainable and active travel and supporting school ‘champions’.

With a good standard of education, you will have experience of working with children and young people, of partnership working within a community-based or environment project and have the ability to build strong working relationships. You will also have the ability to deliver engagement activities and promotional events. Your enthusiasm will be motivational to others and your excellent written and verbal communication will complement your strong organisational skills. IT literacy is essential as is an understanding of school settings and the health benefits of active travel. You will also be committed to active travel and the promotion of sustainable transport. DBS Enhanced Disclosure clearance is mandatory for this role.
