A unique opportunity to join RSPB Cymru’s flagship public engagement project in Wales, Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff; engaging thousands of children and families in Cardiff with the wildlife on their doorstep and encouraging them to take action to support it.

This job is for you if you love the buzz of a busy project as much as you love nature. You'll be keen to share your enthusiasm for nature with children and families, to professionally promote and represent the RSPB and work closely with the City of Cardiff Council and Buglife, as our project partners.

You'll be responsible for creating and delivering a year round programme of family events in Cardiff's parks and greenspaces and indoor family venues, from libraries to shopping centres. At all events you'll be responsible for delivering memorable family experiences that encourage families to enjoy nature and inspire them to discover more together. You'll spend a lot of your time out and about at events during holiday periods and at weekends. You'll be part of a team of staff and volunteers, including volunteers whom you'll manage at events.

You’ll have an impressive track record of getting things done and an excellent eye for detail to ensure all work is delivered to a consistently high standard. You’ll be confident and charismatic and able to lead and inspire staff and volunteers at events to go the extra mile. You’ll be proactive working across departments, an excellent team player and extremely organised and able to use your own initiative to ensure tasks are completed on time.

You'll have experience in planning, delivering and managing events, from hands-on setup and breakdown to building long term relationships with event organisers, identifying new opportunities and planning events and activities in line with Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff’s objectives.
