Salary: Grade F NJC Pt. 33-37, (£29,323 – £32,486) based on a 37.5 hour week

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, to include Tuesdays. Unsocial hours and weekend work may be required

Contract: Fixed term to 31 March 2019, with extension subject to funding.

Based in Belfast, there will be regular travel throughout NI, and occasional travel to Bristol and other parts of the UK.

Through close ties and an understanding of the needs of community growing groups, FCFCG have co-produced a two-year programme of training and support for community gardens across Northern Ireland – called Growing Resilience. This project will contribute to the sustainability of vibrant local communities by improving the long-term resilience of geographically dispersed growing groups.

The postholder will be expected to:

  • Deliver strategic and practical support services to participating groups in order to meet the stated aims and objectives of the Growing Resilience project.
  • Promote community growing to external bodies, partner organisations and the general public.
  • Oversee the strategic direction of the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens in Northern Ireland, including promoting the work to the public, communicating with local and national networks, working closely with local authorities and sharing best practise.
