Avon Gorge & Downs Education Officer

(Initially a ten month post – to be extended if funding is secured)
Full time: 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £20,071 per annum, pro-rata for months worked

An education officer is required to teach stimulating, enjoyable and informative sessions for school groups, youth groups and play schemes on the Downs. You will also help widen the range of groups that visit the Downs by promoting these sessions to new audiences. You will also plan and run children’s holiday events and provide craft activities at public events.

The successful applicant must have experience of working with children and young people and will have excellent communication skills, British wildlife/conservation knowledge and the enthusiasm to share this with others. They will also have the ability to work independently and in a team, excellent ICT skills, the ability to work under pressure and be flexible.
