About us

Quants Environmental is an expanding ecological consultancy with a diverse range of clients and projects, from small residential developers through to large scale commercial industries. Our work spans the UK, but we are especially active across the beautiful landscapes of Yorkshire and the north of England. The successful candidate will join our friendly, progressive and hardworking team of trained ecologists, and will be fully supported to develop further by our experienced and knowledgeable senior staff.

Role

You will be required to provide support and help to our team of experienced ecologists. The position will involve assisting with field and protected species surveys, initiating desk searches, drafting ecological reports, and many other elements of general applied ecological work. Day to day duties will involve a mix of field and office based responsibilities. This position will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to learn about applied ecology and develop your technical and consultancy skills.

Full training will be provided with regard to health and safety. You will be encouraged to further your CPD, and senior colleagues will provide close mentoring to allow you to work towards obtaining Protected Species licences.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Degree in Ecology or a closely related subject
  • Full driving licence
  • Membership of CIEEM (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Experience of using QGIS (Desirable)
  • Professional, well-organised attitude to work and clients
  • Evidence of long-standing interest in the subject matter
  • The willingness and stamina to undertake field surveys at a variety of site locations, frequently at unsociable hours
  • Ability to work well and flexibly as part of our existing friendly team
