Environmental Technician
Location: Greater London area
Salary: Competitive – based on experience
Hours of Work: 9AM until 5PM, Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch.

The Environmental Technician role:

The post holder will be required to undertake any or all required tasks to facilitate planning, procurement, supervision and data collection in relation to Environmental Claims Management.

The ECM division provides contaminated land consultancy services to the insurance industry managing claims through their whole life cycle including site investigation, risk assessment, remedial strategy design and remediation validation.

The Environmental Technician Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Undertaking field monitoring works including measurement and sampling.
  • Provision of accurate and timely information to line management.
  • Supporting team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices at all levels.
  • Supporting senior colleagues in all aspects of Environmental Claims Management.
  • The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to ensuring consistently high levels of safety, technical robustness and organisation.
  • A teamwork ethic is essential and the provision of support to other team members will be required on an ongoing basis.

The ideal Environmental Technician will need the following Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience of environmental assessment or monitoring would be an advantage but not essential
  • Experience in collection of environmental field data would be an advantage but is not essential
  • High attention to detail.
  • Possess a full and clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines including time management and scheduling
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, Microsoft project and PowerPoint).
