The Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) is seeking an individual with experience in fundraising to join our small and dynamic team in our central London office.

Since 1995 the Galapagos Conservation Trust has raised over £1.6 million through Trusts and Foundations to support Galapagos conservation projects. You will be an essential part of the team writing engaging applications and reports to Trusts to support our Science & Conservation and Education & Sustainability projects. As part of a wider fundraising plan in 2018 and beyond, you will also work directly with the CEO to support our corporate and major donor fundraising strategy.

Our ideal candidate is

  • An individual with a proven track record of fundraising success from Trusts and/or corporates
  • An excellent communicator, who is able to write proposals for a wide range of audiences and is confident making enquiries regarding potential applications
  • A highly organised individual, ideally with experience in supporting the development of fundraising strategies and meeting funding targets
  • Experience working within the charity sector fundraising for environmental/conservation projects
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team
  • Passionate about conservation and the natural world

What you’re responsible for

  • Developing a plan for fundraising from Trusts and Foundations in collaboration with the Projects Manager
  • Increasing restricted & unrestricted income from Trusts and foundations in line with GCT's Financial Plan (departmental budget of £245K)
  • Working with the CEO to develop approaches to corporates and major donors
  • Researching, writing and submitting proposals to potential funders
  • Writing reports and ensuring all donors are reported to on time
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with existing funders through stewardship
  • Overseeing administration of GCT's major gift fundraising activities
  • Reviewing annual fundraising success for GCT projects
  • Supporting the management of GCT's project portfolio
