The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BBCT) is looking for a Full-time Public Engagement Manager to lead on developing the Trust’s outreach and communications team.

This position is funded by the Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery for 3 years.

Your primary role will be to:-

  • Develop a public engagement strategy, ensuring it is effective, measurable and involves our membership
  • Identify opportunities to create new initiatives to engage the public, partnering with other charities and science bodies to increase our reach.
  • Ensure the Trust does more to engage with harder to reach audiences using innovative communication campaigns.
  • Proactively promote the work of the Trust with the media

The Public Engagement Manager (PEM) will play a key role in the development of a Public Engagement Strategy, setting out a roadmap for the delivery of our strategic aim 2 – raising awareness and establishing the Trust as a go to place for bumblebees. It will include internal and external communications.

The PEM will report to the Head of Strategy and Development, when they return from maternity leave but will report directly to the CEO in the meantime.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public engagement specialist to start developing an engagement programme for the Trust, and to become involved in the growth of an exceptional conservation charity. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, high achieving, and creative individual with a strong interest in engaging a wide range of audiences with Bumblebees.
