ABOUT US

The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. We own and care for over 1,000 woodland sites across the United Kingdom and support the creation and management of woodland on land outside the Trust's own estate.

THE ROLE

Our Membership Development Coordinators work hard to research and secure event and venue bookings with hundreds of new and existing contacts each year giving our Membership development officers the opportunity to inspire people to join the Trust, increase our income and enable us to do the essential work for which we have become so well-known.

As an Assistant Membership Development Coordinator you will research and identify key venues and events for our Membership Development Officers to attend. You will be raising awareness, maintaining and building relationships with decision makers at new and existing venues. Your job will involve planning and booking diaries for a selection of team members across the UK.

As part of this role you will be able to plan, negotiate, deliver and review the provision of high quality venues and events so that recruitment targets can be achieved. We have targets but it's not all about numbers; the team genuinely enjoys their work, are passionate about the natural world, spreading the word about the importance of trees and woods in our lives and motivating people to add their voices and support our cause without feeling pressured.

THE CANDIDATE

You will have excellent organisational skills with rigorous attention to detail and superb communication skills. Genuine enthusiasm for working with people is important, as is a basic environmental awareness with a passion for woods and trees. You'll be resilient and able to work to targets.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

There's no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. Whatever you do here you will be supporting our work to protect and enhance woods and trees. In return, we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.
