The Project Assistant Role

A Project Assistant is required to join Love to Ride - an innovative behaviour change consultancy that specialises in designing and implementing behaviour change programmes that get more people riding in the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Love to Ride are a small, highly focused and fun global team of passionate people. The Bristol-based team manage behaviour change programmes across the UK and also support global projects and product development.

This is a varied and interesting role involving everything from setting up project websites to arranging promotional materials or drafting press releases and writing social media updates. It will be your role to help make sure the projects run smoothly, on time and meet or exceed targets.

We are focused on developing our team and ensuring that we help grow skills and enhance individual interests. Expect to be challenged and stretched professionally within this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

 The primary roles and responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Provide marketing and administration support to the delivery of Love to Ride behaviour change projects to include:
  • Support the Project Coordinator in growing and supporting the global Love to Ride community through:
  • Planning and creating engaging written and graphic content, moderating daily posts, writing editorial content, using creative approaches to design, develop and implement promotions and giveaways
  • Providing daily ‘customer service’ through support tools, social media engagement as required
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the client teams
  • Support the Projects team on qualitative and quantitative research, including the setting up of online questionnaires, then undertaking basic data analysis, pulling together data tables and writing commentary
  • Amalgamate and manage master project databases and spreadsheets
  • Provide operational and administrative support for the Love to Ride team in the areas of report preparation, compiling generic content, proof-reading and distribution
  • Carry out any other duties defined by the Senior Project Manager and Operations team which may from time to time be necessary to further the aims of Love to Ride

Person Specification

You will be a bright, friendly and personally motivated individual who can demonstrate an eye for detail and has experience handling a multitude of tasks. You’ll be enthusiastic, highly organised and an efficient administrator, confident supporting the Projects and Support team to deliver cycling interventions. You will be committed to continuously improving Love to Ride’s operations.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes, skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level
  • A commitment to creating positive change in society
  • Practical skills and experience in marketing and written communications
  • IT literate, with high level of competency in Word, Excel and a range of web applications including mail-merging and database mailing tools such as Mailchimp
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills, including writing
  • Solid administration skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at any one time
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A love for social media and good working knowledge of the online industry
  • Creative and dynamic in approach to social media campaigns
  • Experience in content creation and delivery
  • Experience of running email campaigns
  • A sense of fun, great sense of humour and a desire to be part of a creative and exciting team of passionate people making change happen
  • Takes responsibility for own actions and the outcomes that result
  • Good team worker and able to work independently without close supervision
  • You’ll be open-minded, collaborative and friendly

Desirable skills:

  • Graphics/image design and editing
  • Production of GIFs, videos and other social media assets
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other key design applications

Location

Bristol City Centre – there may be very occasional requirement for fully-expensed national travel to attend events, training or project meetings, although not often. And once a quarter we gather in Frome, Somerset for a team ‘away day’.

The Project Assistant Role

This is a full-time role, working a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Following a successful probationary period, you will be offered a 12-month contract with an extension option.

Remuneration + package

  • £21,000+ dependent on the quality and experience of the applicant
