Job Description


Liaising with fishermen to promote and assist with Seafish’s Responsible Fishing Scheme.

Principle Duties:

  • Promote the Scheme and assist the vessels in understanding the process to which they will submit.
  • Support vessels in identifying necessary documentation, standards and behaviours needed to demonstrate compliance with the Scheme.
  • Conduct internal audits on all SWFPA member vessels.
  • Maintain the documentation of the vessels already certified.

Person Specification


  • Resourceful self-starter, able to operate effectively alone or as part of industry or multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of audit techniques.
  • A working understanding of fisheries science and vessel operations.
  • Drivers licence is essential.


  • Experience in auditing.


Tenure: Fixed term contract for 2 years, with the possibility of extension.
Hours: Part-time 21 hours a week (0.6 FTE).
Travel: Frequent within the UK.
Start Date: Immediate start available.
Holidays: 17 days
Notice Period: 2 months
