Assistant Ecologist, Lewes – Ecology (2018)

We are seeking to employ an assistant ecologist to work within a small but well established team in our Sussex office. This will be a 6 month fixed term contract starting in Spring 2018. Work will centre on conducting bat, reptile and great crested newt surveys and assisting with other areas of our work.

The Ecology Consultancy has been operating since 1999 and our regional office, just outside of Lewes in Sussex, has been trading since 2007. We are the largest dedicated ecology company in the county and have forged close relationships with the private and public sector. Our workload includes survey, assessment and mitigation work on a wide variety of projects comprising; small to large scale housing developments, road, rail and port infrastructure, historic building renovation and district wide habitat and green infrastructure appraisals. Our clients include firms of architects, planning consultants, engineering companies, statutory agencies and local authorities.

The post will be based from our Sussex office with the main areas of work being Sussex, Kent and Surrey. The project based nature of our work means that there will be a requirement to undertake such travel as is necessary to successfully carry out contracts. You may be required to assist on large-scale bat projects which will require night time work and unsociable hours.
