This is an important Senior Management Team role in the organisation, leading on the development of core areas of strategy for the Trust and overseeing key programmes of work.

Director of Conservation
Salary circa £40,000
Full-time permanent contract

We are looking for someone with an understanding of: landscape-scale ecology; planning and development issues; and national, regional and local conservation policy. You will have strong advocacy skills to ensure the best outcomes for wildlife.

You will need impressive interpersonal skills, the capacity to manage a committed team, the ability to manage a limited budget and a willingness to seek funders prepared to support your work. You will be able to identify key biodiversity issues and threats, the policy and strategy responses needed to address these, and to raise their profile among decision-makers. And you will be able to think and plan strategically, using evidence to inform delivery.
