We are seeking an individual to join our New Forest Land Advice Service to co-ordinate and deliver the ‘Working Woodlands’ project within the Our Past, Our Future Landscape Partnership Scheme. You will develop and implement a programme of woodland management and monitoring in small privately owned woodlands in and around the New Forest National Park aimed at improving habitat for biodiversity. You will work with woodland owners, contractors and volunteers and liaise with those involved in the local timber markets to involve them in a long term plan for woodland management in the area.

To be successful, you must have excellent knowledge and experience of managing woodlands for biodiversity, as well as a good understanding of the economics of timber harvesting and woodfuel markets.

This post requires a valid driving licence and is based in an office environment in Lymington with considerable time spent working outdoors. A secondment opportunity will be considered in discussion with your current employer.
