Senior Countryside Officer Bodmin, Cornwall

Permanent role – 37 hours per week

£22,221 - £30,397 per annum

CORMAC are recruiting for a Senior Countryside Officer to join their Highways and Environment division. This is a full time permanent position based in Bodmin.

CORMAC is one of the region’s largest companies and is involved in highways and environment, civil engineering, construction, quarrying, facilities management and care. The company is part of the CORSERV Group which is a £200m+ turnover business.


The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the sites and trails team within a defined geographic area of Cornwall. The team manage and maintain Cornwall Council’s environment assets to set service standards. This will involve extensive liaison with a range of stakeholders including landowners, members of the public, partnerships, parish and town councils, user groups and elected members. Those assets under the post holder’s stewardship may include woodland, heathland, paths, trails and heritage sites.


  • Educated to HND or equivalent in a related Environmental Discipline
  • Previous Experience of working in a management role within countryside/environmental role
  • Experience of leading teams
  • Good Knowledge of Legislation relating to coast and countryside management
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
