Who are the University of Dundee?

We are a city centre campus with strong links to the city. We occupy a 22 Hectare site in the heart of Dundee. With over 1,000 trees on campus, it is sometimes hard to believe that the city centre is only a 5 minute walk away. We have 2 of our residences blocks in middle of our campus as well, which means that in the evening campus has a village/community feel. Many locals ‘cut through’ our campus and walk their dogs. We are very much a campus with strong community links. This year for the 6th year in a row we were voted No.1 in Scotland and No. 4 in UK in Times Educational Supplement for student Experience. We have a strong Life Sciences base - being No.1 in UK, a medical school & hospital, a dental school & hospital and an Art College, to name but a few of our focus areas. The Environment and Energy Office is responsible for developing and implementing long-term plans to improve the University's performance across a wide range of areas of environmental sustainability, including carbon emissions, energy use, travel, waste, water, sustainable construction and sustainable procurement

What is the University of Dundee team like?

You will be mainly working with the Environment & Sustainability Officer and with the various departments/teams signed up to Green Impact. Currently we are focused on School of Life Sciences but we will expand this next year. You will be based in the main estates and campus services offices. Being a small team of about 30 you will soon get to know people and join in on our ‘cake days’.

Why would the successful candidate want this position?

You will gain a wealth of experience and learn new skills which will aid you in any future career. It is also useful for gaining contacts within the Higher Education sector.
