Are you passionate about the role that business can play in building a sustainable future? If you have an interest in environmental issues with a can-do attitude and an ability to spot opportunities and make connections easily then come and join BITC as a Programme Manager in our Environment Team.

Here at Business in the Community we are passionate about engaging businesses to take action to create a fair society and a sustainable future. Our Environment Strategy aims to drive progress towards a restorative economy that helps achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and meet the ‘less than 2 degree temperature rise’ commitment agreed at COP21.

We are now looking for an ambitious Programme Manager to help drive forward our environment strategy, with a particular focus on water and ecosystem health.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong experience of the environmental agenda, an understanding of the business and policy context and expertise or a keen interest in water and ecosystem health to support our members to their approaches to managing a critical resource, across their value chains and at a catchment level, for the benefit of their own organisation and wider society.

You will be responsible for managing our Defra funded Healthy Ecosystems project, advising, challenging and supporting food and drink sector companies to develop individual and collaborative approaches to improving water stewardship through their value chains for real impact on the health of ecosystems on the ground. You will also provide expertise, advice and guidance to colleagues and members, develop our smart water hub and drive social media activity and support the wider work of our Water Taskforce to grow our reach and impact. You will manage relationships with a range of stakeholders, consult on and input to Government policy and work with our members to develop thought and action leadership, monitor impact and celebrate success.

If you like a challenge and like the sound of what we do, please apply.
