Interim Chief Executive Officer (6 months)

£12,000 annual salary for 15 hours per week (equivalent to a full time salary of £30,000)

Sustainable Merton is a community led initiative giving local residents, groups, organisations and businesses the opportunity to stimulate practical action to make our area a sustainable community.

We seek an interim Chief Executive Officer to cover the work of the permanent post-holder for 6 months from October 2017. Thereafter, the post will be reviewed and there may be the possibility of an extension, subject to funding. This part time post averages 15 hours per week. The post-holder will work flexible hours, to allow attendance at certain evening and weekend events.

We are looking for an individual who can work towards the aims and plans of the organisation, manage day-to-day operations, support staff and volunteers and work with key local environmental partners.

You’ll need significant experience in leading a small charity or large project, have knowledge of key environmental issues and skills in financial and people management.

You’ll work closely with the Board of Trustees and provide regular reports to them. The post-holder should believe in the charity’s aims and be someone who really gets things done.
