Conservation & WildlifeEnvironmental Education

Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC) is a national wildlife charity which supports amphibians and reptiles and their natural habitats across the UK and abroad.

We are looking for a confident and innovative communicator, with an understanding of UK education systems, to develop ARC’s National Lottery Heritage Funded Hop Spots project so that it is ready for its four-year delivery phase. Hop Spots is a national project to address the growing disconnect from nature through education and widening engagement. Focusing on children and young people (CYP), there are 3 overarching strands to the project – Green Jobs Support, CYP Nature Connection and Environmental Education.

The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Hop Spots Project Manager to develop key partnerships and design and develop programmes of work necessary for the full project.

Closing date for applications – 5pm Wednesday 26th February. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th March.

About Amphibian and Reptile Conservation

The Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust (ARC) was established in June 2009, making its debut at the Hampton Court Flower Show with its Bronze Medal winning ‘Dragon’s Garden’. ARC was created around the core of the Herpetological Conservation Trust (HCT), in response to the wider needs of herpetofauna conservation, providing the UK focus for all aspects of reptile and amphibian conservation. Thus, ARC looks more broadly than the traditional focus on nature reserve management and rare species action plans and advocacy that had been the main reason for HCT’s formation in 1989.
