In Yorkshire District, our team stewards 21,000 hectares of some of England’s most iconic and ecologically rich woodlands, stretching from Hartlepool to Spurn Head, including the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. With over 400,000 annual visitors to gems like Dalby Forest, we’re dedicated to preserving these landscapes for generations to come.
We’re looking for a passionate Forest Wilding Officer to spearhead groundbreaking nature recovery initiatives as part of our national Biodiversity Plan. This is your chance to lead the transformative Wild Newtondale project – a 458-hectare wilding initiative in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. By reshaping landscapes through innovative practices in hydrology, forestry, and herbivory, you’ll help restore thriving ecosystems at scale.
In this dynamic role, you’ll:
- Manage projects that rebuild natural processes and restore biodiversity.
- Contribute to species recovery and reintroductions.
- Use evidence and monitoring to adapt and improve outcomes for nature.
We’re seeking an experienced land management professional with a talent for project management, collaboration, and communication. You’ll work both independently outdoors and as part of our dedicated team, combining fieldwork and strategic planning.
