We are looking for an individual who has a basic understanding of land management, countryside issues, agriculture, ecology or nature conservation. You should have a determination to complete this demanding traineeship which is for 10 months.

You will work on the Tees-Swale: Naturally Connected programme to help deliver a varied and ground-breaking selection of wildlife and nature projects, including upland hay meadow restoration and woodland creation in and around Teesdale.

You will also be enabled and encouraged to influence current and future opportunities to increase this impact, whilst developing your own knowledge and gaining a wide range of skills in conservation and the management of protected landscapes.

All Tees-Swale trainees will receive a range of development opportunities including an induction programme, on-the-job experience and formal training courses. Each trainee has a training budget which they can choose how best to spend to meet their needs and development interests.

We are running an informal online Q&A session for anyone who would like to meet the current trainees and other members of staff working on the Tees-Swale programme before submitting an application. This will be held via Microsoft teams on Tuesday 21st January 7-8pm. If you would like to be sent the meeting link, please email: [email protected]
