Ecologist

DCE Ltd is a small, busy, well-established ecological consultancy based in Cardiff and working predominantly in South Wales. We provide a wide range of habitat and protected species services for planning, development and conservation purposes. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Ecologist to join our team:

Experience / Skills Required:

• A bioscience degree (a relevant Masters is also desirable)
• 1-2 years professional consultancy experience
• Good botanical ID and habitat survey experience
• Protected species survey experience
• Good understanding of relevant UK legislation and planning policy
• Good report writing skills
• CIEEM Membership or eligibility to apply

Full UK driving licence and own car are essential for work use, as is the ability to undertake sometimes physically demanding fieldwork. There will be some out-of-hours working during the field season, for which TOIL is provided. The post is home-based; however, applicants will need to live within commuting distance of Cardiff.
