Consultant Senior Ecologist / Principal Ecological Consultant
Ecological Planning and Research
At EPR we have two passions, people and wildlife. This underpins our work and who we are. We want everyone who works here to feel proud to be a part of EPR.
We are interested in hearing from bright, enthusiastic people who are appropriately qualified and experienced as professional ecologists. Especially if you are a bat ecologist or an experienced Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) consultant with five or more years’ professional experience. We are also recruiting for senior staff with Botany, UK Habs and BNG experience, to join our current experienced team to deliver our strong pipeline of work in this key area. Come join our vibrant team!
We are diversifying our project portfolio and that includes large-scale habitat restoration projects, advising on BNG Habitat banks, working on renewable energy projects including solar and wind, completing strategic recreational impact studies, air and water quality assessments, as well as providing Local Authority advice.
Working at EPR provides the opportunity for genuine career progression. Most of our senior team have worked their way up the company, taking advantage of the opportunities to develop new skills and gain experience. However, we equally welcome Senior staff with experience and perspective gained elsewhere, to complement our existing team and established EPR skill base. Here at EPR we excel in working with a varied and interesting client portfolio, bringing a range of ecological consultancy challenges. Whilst we are a relatively small business (mid-sized ecological consultant), we take pride in assisting high- profile clients such as The Natural History Museum, Natural England, University of Reading, Ordnance Survey and the Duchy of Cornwall. Please look at our website and LinkedIn page for more detail.
EPR is a CIEEM Registered Practice, and several of our Directors serve on CIEEM committees. We care about local causes to our Hampshire and Kent offices and have supported several conservation and community projects.
We offer a great place to work with a supportive and friendly team of colleagues, a generous salary in return for your hard work, and a diverse package of additional benefits, including:
- A generous reward scheme
- Contribution to an ethical pension with generous employer contribution and free access to a Pensions Advisor
- A bespoke programme of professional training
- Option for a long service sabbatical
- Exciting social events including Pimms and Pudding summer gathering, our annual ‘Thank You’ event for all staff and Christmas meal
- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
- Access to trained Mental Health First Aiders
- Free exercise classes to stay healthy
Hybrid working is standard at both of EPR’s current office locations in Hampshire and Kent. A relocation allowance may be available for the right candidate, and we will also consider applications from candidates for home-based working if not living within reasonable distance from a current established EPR office location. We respect the balance between work and home life and have an Excess Hours policy safely in place. Our current vacancies are of course open to part time staff as well as full time. We look forward to hearing from you!
