A little bit about us

Our commitment to biodiversity is the beating heart of our business. The EB team are a diverse group of talented individuals, who bring different experiences, ideas and much more. Together, we've experienced remarkable growth recently, and the best part… We're just getting started.

We have created a new plan for the planet. With our multi award-winning Habitat Banks, we are trailblazing a new path to restore and protect biodiversity by revolutionising how the commercial and natural worlds interact. We are making significant progress at pace with a network of Habitat Banks opening across England already and many more to follow in the coming months, we are seeking to expand our capabilities currently looking for Senior Land Managers to join the business based across England.

About the role

The Senior Land Manager will play a leading role in the creation and management of Habitat Banks on a regional basis as well as supporting national strategic projects and opportunities in conjunction with other senior land team members and the Senior Management Team. Reporting to the Estates Director, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of new Habitat Bank sites through identifying suitable land opportunities, collaborating with landowners and agents, and overseeing the process of onboarding land for Habitat Bank creation.

The role requires effective communication, collaboration with internal teams, and engagement with external stakeholders such as farmers, landowners, and Local Authorities.

And there’s more …

  • Prioritise the creation of Habitat Banks based on Local Authority BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain) credit demand and known purchaser demand, with input from the sales team.
  • Oversee and conduct thorough due diligence to assess site suitability for Habitat Bank creation, coordinating with internal teams including ecology, project delivery, legal, and finance.
  • Prepare and negotiate offers with Landowners based on internal assessments and findings from site visits
  • Gather and analyse data to support targeted Habitat Bank creation, including reviewing local plan policies, agri-environment scheme information, and market sector reports.
  • Oversee and support in the Planning & Consenting process for live sites.
  • Participate in regional and national marketing events to promote the concept of Habitat Bank creation to farmers and landowners.

What we need from you:

  • Experience of working directly with farmers and landowners, in a professional capacity. MRICS/CAAV or other professional qualifications could be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Farm Business Tenancies, planning and relevant environmental matters related to rural land management.
  • Able to determine Title Matters from Land Registry and other publicly available legal and land management data sources.
  • Organised and self-starting, capable of managing personal schedule, maintaining records, and prioritising tasks effectively.
