What you’ll be doing

This role will see you working with early years, primary, secondary schools, colleges, and universities to deliver curriculum-linked activities that will increase students understanding of nature and the environment.

Your day to day will include developing, planning, and delivering courses in outdoor teaching sites to students on science and geography school trips. Our learning programmes cover environmental, conservation and adventurous activities.

You will lead groups of all abilities in the local environment, ensuring you always have the health and safety of the group in mind. When you are not working in the field, you will also be happy to contribute to other aspects of working in a busy education centre.

This is a very active role, some weeks will be long and tiring, but our tutors find this work very rewarding, and we promise you will too!

Where you’ll be based

Set in South Buckinghamshire, within the Chiltern Hills AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), Amersham Field Centre is located within 30 hectares of mixed woodland, meadows and ponds which surround and conceal Amersham Substation.

The centre has two classrooms plus a yurt for the summer months. Most activities, apart from river and settlement studies, take place within an easy walk of the field centre building.

Who we’re looking for

You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and some previous experience of teaching or tutoring. You will also be confident with producing and preparing various learning resources. In addition, you will have:
