Outdoor Education Camp Facilitator (Seasonal appointment January - March 2025) An earlier start date may be possible

Traidhos Camp Program is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The Barge Program is based in Bangkok. Both provide environmental education and activity camps in English for international school students and seasonal visitors from China and Korea who have Winter holidays at this time. In the Winter Camp period, there is residential school work at forest and marine sites and day and residential holiday camp programs on the Chiang Mai campus.

The successful applicant will lead groups on age appropriate scavenger hunts, bug observations, short hikes to villages and facilitation of reflection after adventurous activities which may include some kayaking, SUP, biking and climbing wall. The successful applicant will also manage groups during cultural and craft activities and be able to facilitate discussion on living sustainably and the responsibility of a global citizen.

Applicants should have experience of leading teambuilding and group games with children and be comfortable managing groups of students outside of the classroom.

The successful applicant will meet this profile:

  • University Graduate (essential so we can apply for a legal work permit) 
  • Experienced leading students aged 4 - 14 in the out of doors eg outdoor activity center, scouts/guides, Forest School, Bushcraft activities
  • Enjoys interacting with groups of young people
  • Dynamic facilitator with good energy for leading children, aware of keeping students safe
  • Organized and able to pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • A good team player
  • Willing to immerse in all aspects of the camp program
  • Willing to work long days and is physically / mentally fit
  • Able to embrace Thai culture and cope with working in a tropical climate (although in Jan can be chilly at the start and end of the day)
  • Available from early January 2025 or earlier

Additional qualifications that would be useful:

  • First aid
  • Lifesaving
  • TEFL qualification
  • Safeguarding training 

You will expect to grow your skills in delivering EE, working with diverse groups of students, experience working in an international context and broaden your knowledge of helping kids to interact with the environment.

Traidhos Programs provides: work permit and visa once in Thailand, simple room in a shared apartment, accident insurance and 20,000  - 30,000Thai baht per month depending on experience and ability to lead a small team or to be an active member of a teaching team.

(You are responsible for your flight to Thailand and the entry visa.)
