Here at Severn Rivers Trust, we are excited to be growing our successful community engagement programmes. We are looking for a passionate and motivated person to join our team working to inspire and empower local people to take action for their rivers. We are looking for a River Engagement Assistant to support our team in planning and leading learning and volunteering activities across the Severn region.

The Severn Rivers Trust are the only environmental organisation operating from source to sea along Britain’s longest river system, the Severn. Our commitment to turning the tide on the ecological adversities facing our water environment is bold and ambitious. We’re a team of friendly and knowledgeable staff with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to get things done to improve the health of our rivers.

We want to help make careers in conservation more appealing and accessible to non-graduates and people who might not have considered roles in this area before. The Assistant role is all about learning on the job and supporting your colleagues to run amazing activities for local people. You might be finishing a placement, or graduating from a degree, or perhaps you are working in a completely different field with valuable transferable skills that you can bring to this role. If you are looking for a route into the environmental education sector and want to be at forefront of ambitious nature conservation, then Severn Rivers Trust could be just the place for you. Please don’t be put off if you think that you are not the usual candidate for jobs like this, or you don't meet all of the person specification requirements - we want to hear from you!
